2 bags split peas
1 medium onion
2 carrots chopped
1 ham bone
2 tbsp ham base
salt

Saute onion in olive oil until translucent. Add carrot and peas. Lay ham bone on top and cover with water. Bring to boil and simmer for about 2 hours, stirring often and adding water if necessary. When peas are soft and mushy, remove ham bone. Process soup with immersion blender. Pick ham bits from bone and return them to soup. Add ham base, salt and pepper to taste.
